General Information

+ You’ve heard it before but we’ll say it again . . . order your stationery as far in advance as you can. It’s always better to be organised instead of giving yourselves more stress closer to the date. Then just leave the rest up to us!

+ You need to read, re-read and re-re-read the text you supply for your artwork and always ask someone else to double check your proofs before you send them back to us. You can never be too careful at this stage.

+ The Arty Invites bespoke service gives you (and us!) the opportunity to let imaginations run wild. We can create exactly what you want. BUT remember that your big day is an expensive event so be honest with yourselves and us about your budget at the start of the process.

+ We will always be transparent with our pricing and will deliver on time. If you need us to produce something in a hurry, we will be realistic about timescales and work out the best way to get what you want. Choosing a design from the collections offers the opportunity for a quicker turnaround if time is an issue.

Save the Date

+ Summer months are popular not only for weddings but also for holidays, so if you’re having a summer wedding it is best to send save the date cards as soon as you have your venue(s) confirmed. You can then work on the rest of the details for your invitations at your leisure.

+ If you are sending save the date cards, why not ask your guests to let you know if they can’t make it? That way you’ll have a better idea of how many invitations you need and also a firmer idea of numbers for your catering quotes.

+ Be careful with save the date cards. Don’t send the same version to your day and evening guests – it could be disappointing for them to receive a card and assume they’ll be invited to the ceremony and wedding breakfast and then to receive an evening invitation in the post.

Invitations

+ You need to think about your wording. Click
here for some ideas.

+ Who is inviting your guests – you or your parents. . .?

+ Get your guests there on time! It is often best to put an arrival time on your invitations rather than the exact start time of your ceremony to avoid latecomers. . .

Information for your guests

+ Do you need to include maps, directions, travel suggestions? Usually an A4 print out will be all you need to send. However, if you want a template designed in the same style as your invite, this can be arranged for a one off fee of £30. We can supply this to you in a pdf format so you can print them off in your
own time.

Additional information in this style could include:
+ Accommodation details – useful if you have arranged a group rate near or at your reception venue
+ Wedding list information – if you’re asking your guests to perhaps contribute to a savings account or give money towards your honeymoon instead of having a traditional list
+ If your guests have any queries, should they contact you or your parents? Remember to include a telephone number and maybe an email address

+Dress code information

............
RSVPs

+ Do you want to supply RSVP cards or leave it to your guests to choose their own way to reply?

+ When do you need your guests to let you know if they can join you? Remember to put a deadline for RSVPs to save endless phone calls

.............................

Order of Service

+ Do you want an order of service? Most couples do for a church ceremony but it is less common for civil services. It is usual to include personal details of your ceremony but remember to ensure these are all approved and finalised before placing
your order

............
Menus

+ Do you need to produce menus for your guests or is the venue printing them?

.............................
Thank you cards

+ How are you going to thank your guests? Remember that you’ll need thank you cards for more than just your presents. Some evening guests will also give gifts, so ensure you account for this when deciding how many cards to order

..................
Table Plan

+ Order your table plan at the same time as your other artwork and we can get on and prepare the design template in advance, so it is ready to go once you have received your RSVPs and decided who is sitting where. An alternative is to order a template and choose to handwrite the names of your guests on it – this means you can do this at the very last minute to allow for any changes . .

......................
Place names

+ Do you want us to supply place cards with your guests’ names printed on them? Or would you prefer to us to provide the blank cards that match your design, ready for you to handwrite guests' names? If you are ordering blank place names with your design, always order a few extras to allow for any mistakes when handwriting them . .

Always remember to double and triple check the spelling of your guests' names
!
